DRESS CODE In order to foster individual and school pride, all students are to conform to the dress code on a daily basis, unless free dress days are announced. All dress code pieces are interchangeable. If your child prefers sweatshirts to sweaters, for example, just get sweatshirts – there is no requirement to have a sweater also. School logo shirts are available at Design-n-Stitch and Lands End. An embroidered school logo may be added to items purchased elsewhere. These items must be brought to the school we will in-turn take them to Design-n Stitch to be embroidered. All clothing must be neat, clean and in good repair. all students are expected to adhere to the clothing requirements listed below. Tops: Collared shirts: (long or short sleeve), with school logo. Shirts may be navy blue, forest green, primary red or white. Shirts must have a plain collar, such as polo, oxford, or peter pan. Shirts worn underneath school logo shirts must be dress code color and be tucked in. Sweaters/sweatshirts: solid colors of navy blue, forest green, primary red or white only with school logo. V-neck, crewneck, cardigan sweaters or vests, with school logo are all acceptable. A collared shirt must be worn underneath. Grades 6-8 Students are not required to have a school logo on any shirt, sweatshirt or sweater. These items must be dress code colors. May wear any style shirt with long or short sleeves that has a collar and is solid navy blue, forest green, primary red or white. May wear hooded sweatshirt that is solid navy blue, forest green, primary red or white. Bottoms: Navy or khaki. (No denim, no patch pockets on pants or shorts, no sweatpants, no leggings.) The length of walking shorts and skorts should be measured by the fingertips touching at the least the short/skort bottom hem when arms are at their sides. Jumpers and skirts should be knee length. Shoes: Shoes should be durable and flexible enough for playground use, have non-marking soles, with closed heel and toe. (No greater than 1” heal, no thongs, no sandals, clogs or backless shoes) Socks/tights: Must be solid in color navy blue, forest green, primary red, or white (no designs). Socks or tights must be worn at all times. Grades 6-8 May wear any color of socks or tights. Accessories: Hair must be clean, neatly combed and must not interfere with eyesight. Hair for boys must not touch the shirt collar. No caps, hats or scarves inside school building during school hours. Make-up, tattoos, body piercing (excluding ears) and dyed or colored hair is not appropriate. Jewelry must be modest, appropriate and safe for school. Reminders: All clothing must be clearly marked with child’s name inside. Free Dress Days When a free dress day is announced, students may wear clothing that is neat, modest, and appropriate for school. Non compliance If a student is not in compliance with the dress code, parent(s) will be called. Parent(s) will need to bring to school appropriate clothing for student or take student home to change into appropriate clothing. |
