A Catechism (guide)
to what the Holy Scriptures teach about abortion.
This summary of abortion
related bible texts is taken from a brochure by Focus on the Family, compiled
out of concern for the thousands of lives of both women and children who
face abortion every day. (1.5 million per year, or ~3 per minute.) The
range of covered topics is comprehensive. I believe this is the best brief
summary of scriptural sources available on the subject.

Job 31:15

Your hands shaped me
and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded
me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? Did you not pour me out

knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life and showed me
kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.
Job 10:8-12
(NIV)
For You formed my inward
parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul
knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret,
and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw

If men who are fighting
hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious

for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, bum
for bum, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
Exodus 21:22-25

Woe
to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among
the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, "What are
you making?" Does your work say, "He has no hands."? Woe to him who says
to his father, "What have you begotten?" or to his mother, "What have you
brought to birth?"
This is what the Lord
says-the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work
of my hands?
Isaiah 45:9-11
(NIV)
On
the contrary, who are you, 0 man, who answers back to God? The thing molded

(NAS)
So tremendous, however,
were the revelations that God gave me that, in order to prevent my becoming
absurdly conceited, I was given a physical handicap one of Satan's angels
to harass me and effectually stop any conceit. Three times I begged the
Lord for it to leave me, but his reply has been, "My grace is enough for
you: for where there is weakness, my power is shown the more completely."
Therefore, I have cheerfully made up my mind to be proud of my weaknesses,
because they mean a deeper experience of the power of Christ.
