About the Author

Manlik Kwong

I have been working in the medical instrument business as a signal processing and visualization engineer for over 10 years at Hewlett-Packard. My past experience include developing defibrillator, ambulatory monitors, and 12-lead cardiograph products.

Presently I am working as a software engineer at the Hewlett-Packard Workstation Group in the Technical Computing Visualization Lab.

I am also moon-lighting as a medical research engineer, collaborating with CCHSR and Memorial Medical Center Long Beach.

My long term goals are:

• Continue my education in patient care and management through these academic activities
• Explore ways to utilize the internet technologies to help clinicians visualize and manage patient information
• Through these explorations, educate myself in the use of JAVA, C++, and Web-authoring and management
• Have fun on the web
