This web site will explore issues and methods for improving the diagnosis and management of patients with acute cardiac ischemia. This work is in part a collaboration with the Center for Cardiovascular Health Services Research (CCHSR) located at New England Medical Center, Tufts University Medical School in Boston Mass.

CCHSR, directed by Dr. Selker have developed and published "cardiac predictive instruments", computer-based mathematical models for the prediction of medical outcomes, and the design and management of large multi-site clinical trials over the last 15 years.

The work to be presented at this web site will build upon the work at CCHSR and explore methods and techniques to analyze, diagnose, and manage patient information utilizing the internet or intranet as the backbone. In addition, web-based tools such as JAVA will be used to implement the forms and interactive components of this web site.

The objective of this web site is to educate and promote the use of predictive instruments for improving patient management and care. A second objective is to explore whether the internet can be utilized to improve transportation of critical patient information and quality assessment information to improve the diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute cardiac ischemia.
