Logos House is a university ministry in the form of a
Christian study center for the Oregon State University community. We serve a diverse
group of Christians and others who are interested in interacting with a
Biblical world view.
As a Christian study center, we thrive on the joy
(that's right, the J-O-Y) of thinking both clearly and Christianly in the midst of the
university and all of its diversity as we work on integrating our
academic and vocational callings with our faith.
Accordingly, we seek a comprehensive Christian world
view based on the biblical record (revelation) that Jesus Christ is Lord, thereby assisting
Christian students, faculty, and anyone else who would wisely meet the challenges of our pluralistic culture.
Diverse? Really Diverse? Yes, Logos House is a cooperative ministry
started by member of several local churches, with the blessing of several
other well-established campus ministries.
In our diversity we find deep and lasting unity in the
person of Jesus Christ, whom we seek to follow according to the Bible. We acknowledge
the Apostles' Creed as a sufficient expression of our common Biblical faith.
| What we offer | ![]() |
We offer distinctive courses and lecture series in theology, philosophy, science and literature. Our course offerings run parallel with the OSU academic calendar. Fully transferable college credit is granted by
George Fox University
in Newberg, Oregon, for those who desire (though credit is not mandatory, and indeed, most opt for non-credit).
Our staff will provide guided reading-and-conference, tutorials, and resource reference for undergraduate and graduate students who would formulate their papers, theses, and dissertations with a biblical perspective. In this connection we enjoy a good working relationship with the
OSU Graduate Christian Forum
and Christian Faculty Fellowship. Together we sponsor special lectures and seminars seeking to articulate a Christian perspective in the academic disciplines and related professions.
Additionally, we serve the local church as a resource in
Christian Education and discipleship. Our classes can provide aspects of discipleship and study opportunities that busy pastoral staff typically can't quite fit in.
Logos House is open Monday through Friday, serving as a quiet place where you may relax and read (coffee is always ready) or get into a discussion about head, heart, faith, life, love, or all of the above!
Every other Friday of the month, we have a dinner and movie night. Dinner is at 6:30 for $4.00, and a thought-provoking movie begins at 7:45 pm with a follow-up discussion afterwards. All are welcome.
