Mark III - Mistletoe Observatory

No garden on the deck (yet), but it's ready to go!

It's been my goal for a long time to build a permanent observatory.  We found a great piece of land , and after a couple of years of zoning and forestry fun, we built an observatory with a house attached.  The Dome is a Boyd Observatories 6000.  It was chosen as it was the only prefab with a door that would open when the dome was turned.  The pier is an 18" concrete column down through the garage into its own footing.

The observatory is above the garage on the South corner of a flat roof top garden.  A roof top garden was chosen as it is immune from deer.  The rest of the house is to the north (of course :-)  Access to the garden and observatory is from the 2nd story master bedroom.
