NGC 891 |

NGC 891 is a 10th magnitude edge-on galaxy with a great dust lane along its equator. It hangs in the constellation of Andromeda, but is 10 million light years away. It is 13.5 x 2.8 arc-min in size.
Taken on November 17, 2000 from the Mistletoe site outside of Monmouth Oregon with the 12" LX200 at f/6.3 and SBIG ST-8E. Self-guided.
This image is an LRGB composite of ten 5 minute luminance, three 5 minute red, three 5 minute green, and three 5 minute blue frames. L is unbinned, and RBG frames are binned 2x2.
