Revisions 3.17 to 3.80
Version
3.50 of the PC program, issued in 2005, added new capabilities over
version 3.17, including:
- Extensive Memory capability. Stored as PC files, these allow
changing frequency, mode and almost any other operating parameter.
- FM DTMF tones are available in transmit.
- Tone bursts and CTCSS are available in FM.
- Ending tone bursts are available in SSB.
- Power-to-Tone conversion is available for peaking antennas on Sun
or Moon noise (or any other application).
- Help Screens now come from an ASCII file and can be easily
customized.
- The Audio Processor now has 1 Hz RIT and full mode capability.
- All screen Saves are now in GIF format.
Version 3.80 had the major addition of automatic clock setting
from GPS data. In addition there were many items improved or added.
These changes are:
- Time is now always UTC (GMT) and the DOS environmental variable
TZ is no longer needed.
- Precise time is retained during returns to DOS. The DOS clock
will reflect this correct time.
- Time can be set manually, with NMEA GPS string, or with Motorola
UT+ binary data.
- A time-log data file is available to diagnose clock problems.
- Screen saves have narrow color bars on the sides of the top
spectral
display to show the slicing of the data for the waterfall display.
- The DOS-Visit has been enhanced with file saving of the screen,
increasing the available memory for the Visit by over 100K.
- The old EME QTH listing has been expanded to also display Earth
distances and bearings, based on GPS data , if available.
- QTH data can be entered from a CTRL-U dialog box as either
Lat/Lon or 6-digit grid square.
- Number of stations for QTH data has been raised from 10 to 25
- CTRL-Y clears the waterfall display
- Error messages have been added and clarified.
- The F1 help file, UHELP_1.TXT has been updated
- The Beacon Overlay will be stopped from transmit by either the
Home key or ALT-H beacon control
- The long CW/LTI characters ~, { and } will be broken before
their end, in response to either a change in beacon T/R state or the
Home T/R key. They used to wait until they completed.
- A "Warm Boot" of the DSP is available, primarily for those using
the DSPx, when the L/R channels appear reversed.
- The color selection for the bar graphs has been corrected. These
are now programmable from the configuration file.
- Several minor bugs have been fixed
